Wooden furnitures - Jae-Hyo Lee

The South-Korean artist assembles raw wood logs to create 3D volumes in a so unique way. I’ve already seen few furnitures produced with similar raw wooden pieces but none of them managed to get such a nice finish with such a rich contrast. The gaps between the logs lighten the solid volume and reveal the color of the dark wood which was first burnt with a strong fire then polished on the extremities to a emphasize the contrast and reveal the overall pattern. By changing the angle of the wood logs, Jae-Hyo Lee controls the rhythm of this pattern.
