Golden Vespa - Arnaud Assoumani’s prosthetic arm by Tomish Design
The French multidisciplinary athlete Arnaud Assoumani launched few months ago a competition to design his new prosthetic arm under the theme of “super-heros”. The winner of the challenge was my friend Thomas Hourdain (Tomish design) with his Golden Vespa concept. “Vespa” doesn’t refer to the scooter brand but to the scientific name of the hornet. The fiction behind the concept is quite fun, “Tomish” imagined the athlete being stung by a hornet which gave him the power to become the Golden Arm. Arnaud ”Golden Arm” Assoumani is representing France at the London Paralympic games for the Men’s 100m, 4x100m relay, long jump, and triple jump. Let the Vespa force be with him.
